If you will check into the river, then this might not induce any bet from other players and if you are in early position, then you will not get a huge pot. It is better to do a slowplay when there is no obvious drawing on the flop. You need to ensure that you bet enough to chase drawing hands if you will flop a set and there is possible straight or flush on the board. When this happen, then the best thing that you can do is to do standard bet or just rise.

It is not a good idea to offer a free card to your opponent in any kind of situation. You need to become aware that slowplaying is a dangerous tactic as you are giving your opponent the opportunity to beat you over a turn. You will also lose the game on the river with a lucky card. In other words, slow playing can be your best weapon to win the game, but you need to use it carefully in the right time and situation. You need to pay attention to position where you are at the table. A good slowplay also depends on the cards that are in play.

You can only do a slowplay when you think that you are holding a hand that cannot be beaten by your opponents around the table. If you think that there is no way that you will lose a hand, then you should think of slow playing. You cannot do slowplay if you are only holding a good hand and you think that it is still vulnerable and a huge chance of losing when someone is holding a better hand.
